Chronic Knee Pain Treatment

Chronic knee pain can be caused by a number of different structures in the knee, from a torn meniscus to a chronically inflamed patellar tendon to arthritic and thinned cartilage to scar tissue from past surgeries.

But one thing is for sure, when your knee hurts all the time it’s hard to walk. . . hard to bend down . . . hard to pick things up off the floor.

It’s hard to stay fit because most “fitness” activities involve the knee.

I know this because I hurt my knee in October of 2021 running a trail race. I finished the race with no problem. An hour later, I couldn’t bend my knee.

I did the usual things, iced it, stretched it, got adjusted.

3 months later I started to get nervous because it was still very painful and I could not run at all. I talked to an orthopedist and he confirmed what I thought it was . . . a degenerative tear of my medial meniscus.

Surgery wasn’t really an option because it would make my knee unstable, which leads to early arthritis and probable a knee replacement in my not too distant future.

I did not want that.

As providence would have it, I went to a conference in February and ran across a vendor who was selling a Shockwave machine. He treated it a couple of times and my knee felt a little better.

But, of course, I was just at a conference and couldn’t really get treatment on a regular basis.

So I went home and continued to deal with my knee pain. I even went to a medical doctor and got a cortisone shot in my knee . . . it did not help.

So I did something crazy. I bought a Shockwave machine and I have been treating my own knee. And it’s working.

I am back to running. . . hoping to take the 10 pounds off that I put on not being able to run. UGH!

I am hopeful. I am able to run . . . WITH NO PAIN.

I have also been treating other people. I have solved a couple of chronic foot pain problems and I am working on a couple more knees too but we are in the early stages of treatment with those.

Needless to say . . . I am really excited to help other people, who have pain . . . get back to doing the things that bring them joy.

Like running does for me.

If you are dealing with pain, I want to help you because I know how miserable it is to not be able to do the things that you want to do because of pain.
